The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Republic of Korea organised a special event to plant an Omani frankincense tree, along with the Sultan Qaboos flower, the Sultan Haitham bin Tarik flower, and the flower of Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, spouse of the Sultan, at the Seoul Botanic Park.

The event forms part of the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to promote cultural and environmental exchange between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Korea, and to highlight the deep historical ties between the two countries.

The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Korea, Zakariya bin Hamad Alsaadi, expressed his gratitude to the guests for attending the event.

He noted that the planting ceremony had originally been planned for the previous year to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Korea, but quarantine procedures related to plants had prevented it from taking place on time.

The Director of Seoul Botanic Park expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the Embassy, praising the initiative for introducing symbols deeply rooted in Omani heritage.

She emphasised the importance of continuing to care for these plants to ensure their healthy growth in Korean gardens.
