
Oman and Australia hold political talks
The first session of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and Australia was held at the Foreign Ministry in Muscat.
The Omani delegation was led by Ambassador Sheikh Abdulaziz Alhousni, Director of the Ministry's Asia and Pacific Department. The Australian delegation was headed by Paul Griffiths, Assistant Secretary for Middle East and Africa at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The session reviewed relations between the two countries and discussed strengthening existing cooperation, particularly in the economic, investment and cultural fields.
The delegations also exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest.

The session was attended from the Australian delegation by Miles Armitage, Australia’s non resident Ambassador to Oman, along with officials from both countries.
