Oman working to boost tourism from China
Oman Airports has received the inaugural China Eastern Airlines flight from Beijing Daxing International Airport to Muscat International Airport, marking the launch of a direct route between Muscat and Beijing with two flights per week.

The launch of the inaugural China Eastern Airlines flight is the result of cooperation between the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.

The new route will boost tourism and facilitate trade and investment between the Sultanate of Oman and the People’s Republic of China.
Azzan Albusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, said the new route represents a bridge of friendship and cooperation linking two ancient civilisations with deep historical roots and a shared vision for a bright future.

At the same time, promotional workshops organised by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism have begun in Beijing to strengthen Oman’s tourism profile in the Chinese market and attract travellers and visitors from China.
After Beijing, the Ministry will continue its promotional tour with events in Shanghai and Guangzhou, with the participation of 22 Omani tourism institutions.

Azzan Albusaidi, said the workshops come at a time when the Chinese market is witnessing unprecedented growth in demand for foreign travel, making China one of the most promising markets for Omani tourism in the coming years.

The workshops in Beijing include presentations on Oman’s tourism offerings, along with bilateral meetings bringing together Omani companies and around 100 Chinese tourism firms, including tour operators and specialists in the meetings and incentives sector.

The Beijing workshop saw the launch of Oman’s new digital promotional platforms in the Chinese market, along with the Chinese-language version of the “Experience Oman” website, as part of efforts to strengthen Oman’s digital presence and attract visitors.

The Ministry's promotional efforts are supported by its marketing plan, which includes opening new tourism representation offices in several key markets such as China, Russia and Spain. Work is under way to open an office covering Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
This will bring the total number of tourism representation offices to 11, implementing marketing campaigns in 25 countries in cooperation with leading tourism institutions in those markets.
