
Oman participates in Fitur 2026 tourism exhibition in Spain
The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the International Tourism Exhibition Fitur 2026, in the Spanish capital of Madrid from January 21 to 25, 2026. The event involves institutions and companies operating in the travel and tourism sector, including hotel establishments and a number of strategic partners.
Through its participation, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism aims to enhance the presence of Oman in one of the largest international exhibitions in the travel and tourism sector, promoting Oman as a sustainable global tourist destination that offering diverse and innovative tourism styles and luxurious experiences.

The Ministry will also showcase the latest developments related to the tourism sector in the Oman. It will meet with leading global tourism companies and institutions to discuss sector-specific topics, and attend conferences and seminars held alongside the exhibition. These events will present the latest developments, statistics and global trends in travel and tourism.
The Ministry will create an important promotional and economic platform for Omani tourism companies and institutions at the exhibition which will enable them to establish direct communication channels with major global tourism companies through the exhibition’s database.
The Ministry will be seeking to intensify strategic partnerships with international tourism bodies and institutions. It aims to deepen cooperation that allows the Omani tourism sector to reach record levels of growth and attractiveness, keeping pace with global trends. This will directly contribute to increasing the sector’s contribution to national income, boost tourist flows to Oman, and enable tourism establishments and institutions to deliver services with quality, efficiency and distinction.
Haitham bin Mohammed Al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said that such global exhibitions provide an opportunity to highlight the diverse and innovative tourism patterns that distinguish Oman. Environmental, natural and geological factors have made Oman a unique destination that offers tourism experiences catering to a wide range of expectations and preferences, he added.
He noted that the participation of major tourism institutions from around the world at Fitur 2026, alongside leading media organisations in the field, will support the implementation of effective promotional programmes.
Anwar bin Said Al Balushi, Director of the Tourism Events Department at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said that the importance of participating in the Fitur exhibition lies in the fact that it is the first global tourism exhibition held at the start of each year. It is also one of the largest tourism exhibitions hosted in the Kingdom of Spain. More than 9,000 exhibitors from around 150 countries take part, with more than 800 pavilions and more than 150,000 visitors expected.
He added that the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is keen to participate annually in this international event, together with a number of Omani tourism institutions, to promote Oman in an integrated manner and highlight its key assets and diverse tourism experiences.
Said Al Balushi noted that the participation includes a series of pre-scheduled meetings with leading global tourism companies. It also includes media engagements with representatives of international media outlets. This contributes to strengthening the presence of Oman on the global tourism map.
