Oman at international conference on the peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue

The Sultanate of Oman participated in a high-level international conference on the peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, which is taking place at the United Nations headquarters in New York and until July 30.

Oman’s delegation to the conference is being led by Sheikh Abdulaziz Alhinai, Ambassador at large at the Foreign Ministry.

The plenary session was held in the General Assembly Hall and included statements from participating delegations.

During the session, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres delivered remarks in which he affirmed that the establishment of a Palestinian state is “a right, not a reward”, stressing that the two-state solution remains the only just, realistic and sustainable path forward.

The international conference opened with a high-level ministerial meeting of the working groups accompanying the event.

The meeting discussed several topics aimed at providing a platform to unify key perspectives, to highlight the international consensus in support of the two-state solution through political, legal, economic and humanitarian tracks, and to outline concrete next steps.
