Oman and Switzerland review cooperation

The sixth session of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Swiss Confederation was held in the Swiss capital Bern.

The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs. The Swiss delegation was headed by Monika Schmutz Kirgöz, Swiss Assistant Foreign Minister and Head of the Middle East and North Africa Division.

The session reviewed cooperation between the two countries and discussed ways to develop it in the economic, trade and tourism sectors.

The consultations also covered coordination and the exchange of expertise in mediation and diplomatic approaches to resolving issues, in addition to discussing the latest regional and international developments of mutual interest.

The session was attended by Mahmoud Alhasani, Oman’s Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, along with a number of officials from both countries.
