Official reception for His Majesty in Madrid

An official reception ceremony was held for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at the Royal Palace in Madrid on the occasion of his state visit to the Kingdom of Spain.

Following the ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain held a cordial private meeting at the Royal Palace.

Afterwards, His Majesty greeted senior Spanish officials, while the King and Queen greeted members of the Omani official delegation. His Majesty and King Felipe VI then witnessed the passing of the guard of honour accompanied by military music.

His Majesty the Sultan, the King, and the Queen later ascended the royal dais as the national anthems of Oman and Spain were played, while a 21-gun salute was fired in honour of His Majesty. His Majesty then inspected the guard of honour.

As His Majesty’s motorcade approached the Royal Palace, it was escorted by a contingent of the Royal Cavalry. Upon arrival, His Majesty was received by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, who welcomed him warmly and wished His Majesty and his accompanying delegation a successful and pleasant stay in Spain.
