Oman and Hong Kong discuss investment cooperation

Abdulsalam Almurshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), met with John KC Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The meeting reviewed areas of cooperation between Oman and Hong Kong in the economic, trade, and investment sectors, and touched on available opportunities to strengthen the partnership.

This meeting took place during the OIA President's current visit to Hong Kong. Abdulsalam Almurshidi praised the existing relationship between Oman and Hong Kong, emphasising the importance of continuing reciprocal visits and enhancing cooperation in areas that serve mutual interests.

The Chief Executive of Hong Kong affirmed that Oman has an ambitious strategic vision in Oman Vision 2040, which aligns with the “Belt and Road” initiative. This, he noted, contributes to enhancing economic and commercial cooperation. He pointed out that Hong Kong, as a global financial and commercial hub, offers an attractive environment for investments in various sectors, including renewable energy and advanced technologies.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdulaziz Alhinai, Foreign Ministry Ambassador at large.
