Japan: Oman presents a fashion show at its pavilion in Expo 2025
Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan hosted a fashion show that showcased elements of Omani identity and the richness of its cultural heritage through traditional designs reintroduced with innovative modern touches.
The designs vividly expressed the authenticity of Omani attire as a cultural language reflecting the diversity of Oman’s environments and its open, humanistic spirit towards the world.
The show featured eight models presenting 16 outfits inspired by Oman’s marine, mountain, and desert environments. The costumes told stories of traditional crafts, local fabrics, and decorative patterns that have characterised Omani dress through the ages. They were presented on stage in a contemporary style that highlights the ability of this heritage to renew itself and remain present in the global cultural scene.
The show received wide engagement from visitors, who recognised in Omani attire its profound cultural depth, carrying symbols of national identity and civilisational history, blended with modern touches that bring it renewed vitality and make it capable of competing in global arenas of creativity.
This event is part of a comprehensive cultural and artistic programme organised by Oman at its pavilion until the end of next October. It aims to showcase Oman’s identity in a style inspired by its rich past to build its present, affirming through its costumes and diverse arts that Omani culture can build bridges of communication and dialogue with peoples around the world.
