Minister receives head of Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organisation

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received at the Foreign Ministry, Dr Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO).

The meeting reviewed existing cooperation between Oman and the CTBTO. It highlighted the importance of international cooperation and multilateralism in strengthening the global disarmament and non-proliferation framework, reaffirming dialogue and diplomacy as the primary paths towards international peace and security.

The meeting also saw an exchange of views on the importance of technical cooperation and capacity-building in monitoring and verification. Efforts to combat radioactive leakage and address the resulting damage were discussed, alongside other issues of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Alqutbi, Head of the Ministry's Department for International Organisations, along with various officials.
