Minister discusses regional security with a number of his counterparts

As part of coordinated Arab and regional efforts to strengthen security and stability, Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi held contacts with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar,; Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

During the talks, the Ministers discussed regional developments, including ways to reduce and contain tension. They also reviewed joint efforts to strengthen security and stability. They underlined the need to support initiatives designed to foster de-escalation, to pursue peaceful solutions and to encourage respect for international law in a manner that serves the shared interests of all countries in the region.

Sayyid Badr also also held calls with Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, and Konstantinos Kombos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus.

The discussions covered regional developments and explored ways to reduce escalation and strengthen diplomatic efforts aimed at reinforcing security and stability.

The calls affirmed the importance of dialogue and peaceful solutions, of respect for international law and the importance of joint action to prevent a wider spread of tension to serve  the interest of the peoples of the region and the international community.
