Mauritanian Foreign Minister receives Head of Ministry's Arab Department

Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation with Africa and Mauritanians Abroad, received Sheikh Faisal Almarhoon, Head of the Arab Department at Oman’s Foreign Ministry, who led the Omani delegation to the first round of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, held in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister expressed his pride in the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and his appreciation for Oman’s keenness to ensure the regular convening of political consultations between the two foreign ministries. He reviewed ways to strengthen and develop cooperation in various fields, particularly investment, trade, culture, and tourism.

The meeting was attended by Jassim Alsaadi, Head of Oman’s Mission in Nouakchott; Mohamed Vall Bah,  Mauritania's Ambassador to Oman, and a number of officials from both countries.
