Minister holds meeting with Austria’s Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received at the Foreign Ministry, Beate Meinl Reisinger, Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria.

Minister discusses co-operation with Austria’s Minister for European Affairs

During the meeting, the Ministers discussed ways to strengthen co-operation between the two friendly countries in various political, economic and cultural fields. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest.

The meeting aimed to develop and expand existing relations of co-operation. It also explored further opportunities for partnership and trade. The meeting discussed developing investment and tourism initiatives and encouraging closer humanitarian and people-to-people ties.

Minister discusses co-operation with Austria’s Minister for European Affairs

Sayyid Badr affirmed Oman’s keenness to deepen co-operation with Austria in priority areas. The Austrian Minister praised the existing co-operation between the two countries and expressed her desire to broaden it in the future.

The two Ministers signed an agreement between the Government of Oman and the Government of Austria on the elimination of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and on capital. The agreement also aims to support tax co-operation, strengthen the economic partnership between the two countries and facilitate the environment for mutual investment. It also aims to prevent tax evasion and avoidance.

The meeting and the signing ceremony were attended by Ambassador Mundher Almandhari, Head of the Ministry's Department for Europe; Ambassador Christoph Ceska, Austria's Ambassador to Oman and a number of officials from both countries.
