His Majesty arrives in Algeria

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived in the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to begin a two-day state visit.

Upon the arrival of His Majesty at Houari Boumediene International Airport, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of Algeria, led the welcoming party.

Also present to receive him were senior officials from the Algerian government.

His Majesty and the Algerian President, ascended the honour platform, where the Omani Royal Anthem and the Algerian National Anthem were played. His Majesty then inspected the Guard of Honour, while a 21-gun salute was fired in welcome.

His Majesty then greeted the Algerian officials present and members of the staff of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman to Algeria. President Tebboune also greeted the official delegation accompanying His Majesty.

President Tebboune then accompanied His Majesty indoors for a cordial meeting. Before the meeting began, heads of diplomatic missions to Algeria stepped forward to greet His Majesty and the Algerian President.

During the meeting, President Tebboune renewed his warm welcome to His Majesty, as a distinguished guest in the brotherly People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, wishing His Majesty and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay.

His Majesty the Sultan expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Algerian President for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.

His Majesty and the Algerian President exchanged cordial conversation and reviewed the deep-rooted historical relations between the two countries and the common bonds they share.

Accompanying His Majesty on his visit is a high-level official delegation that includes: Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; Khalid bin Hilal Albusaidi, Minister of Diwan of Royal Court; Lieutenant General Sultan bin Mohammed Alnomani, Minister of the Royal Office; Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi; Dr Hamad bin Said Alaufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Almurshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority; Dr Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources; Dr Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health; and Ambassador Saif bin Nasser Albaddaei, Oman's Ambassador to Algeria.

President Tebboune then accompanied His Majesty the Sultan to the residence, where a group of cavalry from the Algerian Republican Guard lined both sides of the road at the entrance in welcome of His Majesty's visit.
