His Majesty gives an audience to the Prime Minister of Iraq
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave an audience to Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq at Al Hosn Palace in Salalah.
The audience took place within the context of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s official two-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
His Majesty and the Iraqi Prime Minister also held an official session of talks.
During the meeting, they reviewed cooperation and partnership between the two countries in various spheres, particularly in the fields of energy and investment. The session also touched on how to promote cooperation to serve the interests of both Omani and Iraqi peoples.
In attendance from Oman were His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik bin Taimur Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nomani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamood bin Faisal bin Said Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, Foreign Minister; Sultan bin Salim bin Said Al Habsi, Minister of Finance; Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority, Eng. Said bin Hamoud bin Said Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (Head of the Mission of Honour); Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals and Sheikh Mahmoud bin Muhanna Al Kharousi, Chargé d'affaires of the Sultanate of Oman's Embassy to the Republic of Iraq.
Accompanying the Prime Minister of Iraq were Dr Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister; Eng. Hayan Abdul Ghani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil; Atheer Dawood Al Ghurairi, Minister of Trade; Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, Governor of the Central Bank; Hamid Al Shatri, Head of the National Intelligence Service; Qais Saad Al Amri, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr Mohammed Al-Najjar; CEO of Iraq Fund for Development; and Eng. Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, Governor of Karbala.
The Prime Minister of Iraq arrived in Oman with his accompanying delegation and was received at the private airport in Salalah by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs.
Upon his arrival, the guest was escorted by His Highness Sayyid Shihab to the dais of honour, where the national anthem of Iraq was played.
The Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation were also received by His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, Foreign Minister; Sultan bin Salim bin Said Al Habsi, Minister of Finance; Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority; Eng. Said bin Hamoud bin Said Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (Head of the Mission of Honour); Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals; Qais Saad Al Amri, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Sultanate of Oman; Sheikh Mahmoud Alkharousi, Charge d’Affaires of the Sultanate of Oman’s Embassy in the Republic of Iraq, senior military officers and members of the mission of honour.
