His Majesty arrives in Madrid
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has arrived in Madrid, beginning a three-day state visit to the Kingdom of Spain.

When the Royal plane entered Spanish airspace, it was escorted by military jets of the Spanish Air Force, in a gesture of warm welcome for His Majesty.

Upon his arrival at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport, His Majesty was received by Diego Martínez, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Head of the Mission of Honour, several Spanish officials, and Thamer Al Alawi Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Spain and members of staff from the Omani Embassy in Madrid.

His Majesty then proceeded to the vehicle awaiting him, passing between two rows of a guard of honour.

The motorcade of His Majesty then left the airport, heading to the Royal Palace of El Pardo, where he will be staying.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia will host an official reception for His Majesty, at the Royal Palace in Madrid on Tuesday.
