His Majesty and Iranian President witness signing of agreements

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Dr Masoud Pezeshkian President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, witnessed at Al Alam Palace the signing of five cooperation agreements, ten memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and three executive programmes. This took place during the official visit of the Iranian President to the Sultanate of Oman.

The first agreement was a legal and judicial cooperation agreement in civil and criminal matters, extradition of accused persons, and transfer of sentenced individuals. It was signed for Oman by Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, and for Iran side by Dr Amin Hossein Rahimi, Minister of Justice.

The second framework agreement for joint cooperation, was signed for Oman by Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, and for Iran by Dr Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The third agreement relating to the encouragement and mutual protection of investments, was signed for Oman by Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, and for Iran by Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade.

The fourth agreement, relating to mutual administrative assistance in customs matters, was signed for Oman by Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, and for Iran by Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade.

The fifth agreement, relating to trade preferences, was signed for Oman by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, and for Iran by Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade.

The first memorandum of understanding (MoU), relating to cooperation on deploying armed security guards on flights, was signed for Oman by Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, and for Iran by Dr Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The second MoU covering cooperation in the health sector, was signed for Oman by Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, and for Iran by Dr Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The third MoU between Oman News Agency (ONA) and the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), was signed for Oman by Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, and for Iran by Dr Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The fourth MoU relating to communications and information technology, was signed for Oman by Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, and for Iran  by Dr Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The fifth MoU relating to cooperation in the museum sector, was signed for Oman by Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, and for Iran by Dr Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The sixth MoU covering housing, urban planning, and construction, was signed for Oman by Dr Khalfan bin Said Al Shueili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, and for Iran by Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade.

The seventh MoU relating to organising exhibitions, events, and conferences, was signed for Oman by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, and for Iran by Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade.

The eighth MoU covering cooperation in small and medium enterprise (SMEs) development and entrepreneurship, was signed for Oman by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, and for Iran by Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade.

The ninth MoU pertaining to mining and mineral resources, was  signed for Oman by Engineer Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and for Iran by Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade.

The tenth MoU relating to reviewing a feasibility study of the electrical interconnection project, was signed for Oman by Engineer Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and for Iran by Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade.

The first executive programme, covering cooperation in technical education and vocational training, was signed for Oman by Dr Mahad bin Said Ba’owain, Minister of Labour, and for Iran by Ahmad Meidari, Minister of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare.

The second executive programme, pertaining to cultural cooperation, was signed for Oman by Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, and for Iran by Dr Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
