His Majesty receives a verbal message from Swiss President

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received a verbal message from President Karin Keller-Sutter of the Swiss Confederation.

The message was conveyed during a meeting between His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty, and Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, Vice President of the Swiss Confederation and Minister for Economic Affairs, Education and Research, who is currently on a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

His Highness conveyed His Majesty’s greetings to the Swiss President, along with his sincere wishes for her continued success in achieving the aspirations of the friendly Swiss people for a prosperous and secure future.

The visiting Vice President asked His Highness to convey his President’s greetings to His Majesty, and her good wishes for continued success in leading Oman towards further progress across development, economic and social sectors.

The meeting reviewed the strong relations between Oman and the Switzerland, with both sides affirming the importance of joint efforts to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the economic, trade and investment fields, in a way that benefits the Omani and Swiss peoples.

Attending the meeting from the Oman were the Secretary General and the Adviser at His Highness’s Office. From Switzerland, attendees included Dr  Thomas Oertle, Switzerland's Ambassador to Oman; Urs Andreas Wiedmer, Head of Communications at the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research; Myriam Gurtner, Senior Adviser to the Vice President of the Swiss Confederation; and Louis-Louis Bassablanc, Deputy Head of the Middle East and Africa Economic Bilateral Relations Division.
