The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam, Erma Said Samhan Alkathiry, said the book serves as a historical document and a living testament to the depth of a long-standing partnership. She noted that it reflects the enduring values and spirit of joint work that unite the two countries and offers a comprehensive overview of achievements while raising awareness of the importance of this relationship for future generations.

The launch ceremony included a documentary film highlighting Oman’s diverse tourism and investment potential, with a focus on economic projects and initiatives that reflect the country’s vision for sustainability and economic diversification. This supports prospects for future cooperation and affirms the commitment of both countries to strengthening a continuous and sustainable partnership at all levels. The ceremony also featured a traditional Omani musical performance expressing the country’s cultural identity.

The book comprises twenty-four sections, including messages from Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi and Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Dato Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Foreign Affairs in Brunei Darussalam, as well as a foreword by Ambassador Erma bint Saeed Al Kathiri. It also documents the direct diplomatic experiences of the first resident Ambassadors of the two countries.

The book traces the course of diplomatic relations through high-level official visits and ministerial and undersecretary-level meetings. It also records agreements and mechanisms for bilateral consultations and highlights cooperation in trade, investment, energy and defence, as well as cultural and educational exchange and youth-empowerment programmes. It underscores the central role of Oman’s embassy in Brunei as a cornerstone of this flourishing partnership.

The book stands as a key reference documenting the main milestones in Oman Brunei relations and outlining prospects for future cooperation in ways that serve the mutual interests of both countries and deepen friendship and strengthen the foundations of future partnership.
