Ministry coordinates return of citizens from northern Iran
As part of ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of Omani citizens from the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Foreign Ministry announces that, in coordination with the relevant authorities in neighbouring countries, it is currently organising return arrangements for citizens located in northern regions of Iran through three land border crossings as follows:
1-Razi – Kapıköy Border Crossing (based on designated lists):
Iranian side: Razi, West Azerbaijan Province, near the city of Khoy
Turkish side: Kapıköy, Van Province
2-Shalamcheh – Basra Border Crossing:
Iranian side: Shalamcheh, Khuzestan Province
Iraqi side: Basra Governorate
3-Bajgiran Border Crossing – Ashgabat (based on designated lists):
This crossing is being used specifically to organise the departure of citizens located in the city of Mashhad.
The Ministry, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Tehran, continues to secure appropriate transportation and to coordinate the necessary logistical procedures to ensure the safety of citizens and the smoothness of the crossing process.
The Ministry urges all citizens to remain in their current locations. They will be notified of movement timings by the Foreign Ministry's support team or through the Embassy and field teams.
We thank you for your cooperation. We are all working to ensure your safe return home.
