Omani companies developing hydrogen based solutions

Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Company signed a memorandum of understanding with Hydronova. The agreement focuses on cooperation in using maintenance solutions based on hydrogen injection technology for trucks and heavy equipment.

Al Maha is one of several Omani companies seeking to keep pace with innovative shifts in the energy sector and the development and operation of new hydrogen based solutions and technologies. The aim is to diversify energy sources and reduce carbon emissions.

Under the memorandum, the agreed technologies will be implemented in multiple phases. Deployment will take place through Al Maha stations or other operating mechanisms. The scope includes maintenance solutions and refuelling technologies. This will enhance performance efficiency and support the shift towards more sustainable energy solutions.

Engineer Hamed bin Salim Al Maghdri, Chief Executive Officer of Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Company, said this cooperation represents a strategic project for the future, reflecting the company’s direction to diversify its business. He added that it also marks a transition from reliance on liquid fuels to becoming an integrated energy company, aligning with the company's long term vision to keep pace with innovative transformations in the energy sector.
