Bulgarian President honours Foreign Minister
The President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, awarded the Badge of Honour of the President to Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi during an official ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Sofia.
This Badge is one of the highest honours granted by the President of the Republic. It is awarded in recognition of an individual's outstanding contributions to promoting values, strengthening relations, and acknowledging their achievements and positive impact on society.
In his address on the occasion, the Bulgarian President expressed deep appreciation and respect on behalf of the Bulgarian people for the humanitarian efforts undertaken by the Sultanate of Oman, which led to the safe return of the Bulgarian crew of the vessel Galaxy Leader.
He praised Oman’s noble stance, which reflects the country's genuine values in supporting peace and human solidarity, and commended its significant role under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. He also reaffirmed the friendship between the two countries.
For his part, Sayyid Badr expressed his pride in receiving the honour, noting that it symbolises the universal values that unite people across the world. He affirmed that “in a world rife with turmoil, the values that bring us together are of the utmost importance. They are values precious to all humanity, transcending religious or ethnic identities, and reflecting our shared humanity.”
The Minister also expressed his pleasure at being in the friendly Republic of Bulgaria, conveying the greetings of the Government and people of the Sultanate of Oman, along with their sincere wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the Bulgarian people.
