Political Undersecretary meets UN envoy for Yemen

Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs received Hans Grundberg, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen.

They discussed cooperation between Oman and the United Nations and the joint efforts to reach a political solution to the Yemeni issue with the participation of all parties. The solution would enable Yemen to achieve internal consensus, security and stability, and gain support from regional countries and the international community.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Sheikh Ahmed Almaskari, Head of the Ministry’s Department for the Gulf Cooperation Council and Region, the delegation accompanying the UN Envoy, and officials from the Foreign Ministry.
