His Majesty holds official talks with President of Belarus
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Alexander Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus held an expanded session of official talks in the presence of delegations from both countries.
His Majesty expressed his profound satisfaction with the constructive dialogue and consultations held with the President of the Republic of Belarus and several members of the Belarusian government during the expanded official talks.
His Majesty affirmed that this visit represents an historic opportunity to commemorate the positive trajectory of relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus, following the President's visit to Muscat at the end of last year. His Majesty aspired to strengthen these ties across all domains.
His Majesty stated, “This visit also reaffirms our commitment and direct support for advancing these relations, which have seen growth in economic, commercial, and investment fields in recent times. I have been accompanied on this visit by a number of relevant ministers to explore further avenues for cooperation between our two nations.”
In turn, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko announced the start of a new phase in relations with Oman during the official talks with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik in Minsk.
The talks dealt with opportunities for enhancing economic and investment cooperation and exchanging views about ways to serve the joint interests of the two countries.
The session was attended from Oman by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud Al Busaidi, Minister of Diwan of Royal Court, General Sultan Mohammed Al Nu'amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr Hamad Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority, Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Hamood bin Salim bin Abdullah Altowaiya, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation and Non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus.
Attending the talks from Belarus were Viktor Lukashenko, son of the President and President of the Olympic Committee, Viktor Karankevich, Deputy Prime Minister, Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Khodjaev, Minister of Health, Yuri Gorlov, Minister of Agriculture and Food, Andrei Kuznetsov, Minister of Industry, and Dimitri Pantos, Minister of State for Military Industries.
