Spain: Oman at UNESCO World Conference
Oman took part in the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (MONDIACULT 2025), which continues until October 1 in the city of Barcelona, Spain.
Oman's delegation was headed by Sayyid Said Albusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture, with the participation of Amina Albalushi, Oman’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The conference this year focuses on the core components of the Culture Goal within the framework of sustainable development beyond 2030. These include culture as a human right, the link between culture and education, the cultural economy and decent work, cultural heritage and climate change in times of crisis, culture for peace, digital transformation and technological access in the cultural sphere, as well as artificial intelligence and culture, and the importance of cultural data, evidence and research.
