Minister at Islamic Cooperation Organisation ministerial meeting
Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi took part in the ministerial meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting discussed ways to strengthen joint cooperation among the member states of the OIC across various fields, while underlining the importance of developing strategic partnerships that serve common interests and support integration and solidarity among Islamic countries.
The Ministers also reviewed the latest regional developments, foremost among them the situation in Palestine resulting from the Israeli occupation and the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip, with its tragic and grave consequences.
The meeting stressed the need to unify the efforts and positions of OIC member states and to enhance their presence as a more effective and influential force on the international stage. This would help amplify the voice of justice and legitimate rights and ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
