Minister meets Austrian Foreign Minister in New York

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met in New York with Beate Meinl-Reisinger, Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting saw cordial exchanges and a shared expression of satisfaction with the level of friendly relations between the two countries.

The meeting reaffirmed a commitment to continue developing cooperation programmes in the economic, trade, cultural and scientific fields, while highlighting opportunities for collaboration in renewable energy and sustainability. This related to Oman's goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 and Austria’s pioneering experience in this field.

The Ministers also exchanged views on a number of regional issues and developments, underlining the importance of continued coordination and joint efforts to support security, stability and peace.

The meeting was attended by officials from both countries.
