Minister discusses regional developments with Qatari counterpart
Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, at the Qatari Mission in New York on the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Ministers discussed developments related to the current situation in the region and exchanged views on ways to address them to support efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
Sayyid Badr praised the recent initiatives launched by the State of Qatar, notably its hosting of the Arab-Islamic Summit and its call for collective action to stop the Israeli occupation forces’ aggression on Gaza. He said that these efforts reflect an active diplomacy that contributes to strengthening security and peace.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast position in supporting the Palestinian cause and coordinating with the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council to amplify the voice of justice in international forums.
The two Ministers also reviewed the distinguished fraternal relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar, and reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing these ties in line with the aspirations of the two countries’ leaderships, with a view to deepening mutual interests and maximising benefits across all sectors.
