In his statement, Sayyid Badr highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Oman and the United States, spanning more than two centuries. He noted the achievements of this partnership in protecting global energy supplies, combating terrorism, securing maritime navigation, and supporting peace efforts. He also underlined that this partnership is a key pillar of regional security and stability, requiring urgent action to confront current challenges.

The Minister further stated that the greatest threat facing the region today is the injustice inflicted on the Palestinian people as a result of the ongoing violations by the Israeli occupation forces, which have caused massacres, displacement, and the destruction of hospitals and schools. He affirmed that such practices are unacceptable and represent a blatant violation of international law.

He added that Israel’s actions constantly undermine its proclaimed commitment to peace, stressing that its claims cannot be taken seriously if it assassinates negotiators, bombs hostages, and starves civilians. This, he said, clearly demonstrates the contradiction between its words and deeds.

Sayyid Badr noted that Oman hosted five rounds of talks between the United States and Iran on the nuclear file from March to June this year. He stressed that the large-scale attack launched by Israel against Iran in June undermined the sixth round, which had been expected to be decisive. He affirmed that such actions obstruct avenues of understanding and harm the security and stability of the region.

The Minister emphasised that Oman’s message is clear: business as usual cannot continue, and a credible political process must be advanced to demonstrate unequivocally that escalation and violence will not be tolerated. He warned that the failure of the international community to act will lead to further instability and grave consequences for both regional and international order.

The Foreign Minister concluded by reaffirming Oman and the GCC's commitment to strengthening their partnership with the United States. He stressed that the success of this partnership depends on ending the cycle of violence and upholding a just and lasting peace that ensures justice, security, and stability for all.
