Minister discusses cooperation with Canadian counterpart

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met with Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

They reviewed the friendship and cooperation between Oman and Canada and discussed ways to enhance them across various fields, including trade, investment, education, the exchange of expertise in technology, modern industries, and renewable energy.

The two Ministers also underlined the importance of continued coordination in international forums and joint efforts to support peace and stability and to strengthen the principles of multilateralism and international cooperation.

Sayyid Badr expressed Oman’s appreciation for the Canadian government’s decision to recognise the State of Palestine.

The Canadian Foreign Minister expressed her country’s appreciation for the positive role Oman plays in supporting dialogue and regional mediation, as well as its humanitarian efforts to promote security and stability.
