Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received a phone call from Yvette Cooper, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.

The call reviewed the historical and strategic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom, and ways to strengthen them in various fields to serve the shared interests of the two friendly countries.

They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern, notably the developments in Palestine, especially the ongoing situation in Gaza caused by the war launched by the Israeli occupation forces, which constitutes a violation of the sovereignty of states in the region.

The two Ministers underscored the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza, reaching an agreement within a framework of peace, facilitating the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, and working to end the suffering of civilians.
