Oman and Uzbekistan hold political consultations

The eighth round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.

The Omani delegation was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs,  while the Uzbek delegation was led by Bahranjon Alayev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The consultations reviewed relations between the two countries  particularly across political, economic, trade, investment, scientific and cultural fields. The meeting also discussed ways to enhance relations in the interests of both nations. Views were also exchanged on regional and international issues.

Following the consultations, the two delegations signed a joint action plan for cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of Oman and Uzbekistan.

On the sidelines of the consultations, Sheikh Khalifa met with Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. They discussed relations and the growing areas of cooperation between the two countries.

The session was attended from Oman by AlSayyida Wafa Jabr Nasser Albusaidi, Ambassador of Oman to Uzbekistan, along with a number of officials from the Foreign Ministries of both countries.
