Omran Group announces local and international investment partnerships
The Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran Group) announced investment partnerships with several international and local institutions as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of its establishment, held under the patronage of Salem Almahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.
The ceremony showcased strategic partnerships, including the announcement of an agreement to implement agricultural works in the Salalah Gardens project with the Oman Agriculture Development Company, the first integrated agricultural tourism project of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman.
The master plans and designs for several integrated tourism complex projects were also unveiled, including the Madinat Al Irfan project, the Port Sultan Qaboos Waterfront project, and the Four Seasons Resort project, in addition to a review of the most important development updates in the Opera District project.
The event also included the unveiling of the design model for the Club Med resort project, which will be located in Musandam Governorate. This will be the first destination of its kind for this prestigious brand in the Sultanate of Oman and the region, offering a renewed concept in hospitality and enhancing Musandam's appeal as a distinct tourist destination.
Progress on several projects under development was also reviewed, such as the Santani Jebel Shams Resort, which focuses on providing unique experiences in wellness and health tourism, and the Ali Nivas Resort in Musandam, which blends luxury with nature to offer a comprehensive experience for those interested in luxury tourism.
These projects represent a qualitative addition to the group's hospitality portfolio and contribute to diversifying accommodation options.
The ceremony also featured a review of the latest developments in a number of projects aimed at enhancing and enriching tourism experiences. Prominent among these projects are the Wadi Shab project, with its stunning natural beauty and exploratory activities; the Ras Al Shajar Reserve, a pioneering model of sustainable ecotourism; the Majlis Al Jinn Cave project, one of the largest and most unique caves in the world; the Al Hoota Cave project, which offers visitors a unique educational and recreational experience; and the Hail Al Diyar project, which adds a new dimension to recreational and cultural activities. Together, these projects represent a qualitative addition that enriches visitor options and supports the Sultanate of Oman's position as a global destination for nature and adventure tourism.
A number of new strategic partnerships were also announced, opening up broader business prospects. These included the acquisition of a stake in the UnderTheDoormat platform to support the alternative accommodation market and expand digital marketing channels. Omran Group also announced its acquisition of a stake in the Godoba travel business platform, a move that will contribute to enhancing the sector's digital transformation through innovative solutions.
During the ceremony there was a further announcement of an agreement with Dar Al-Harfiya to establish an integrated marketing centre and outlet for traditional crafts and industries in the Wilayat of Muttrah, enhancing the role of traditional crafts in supporting the tourism sector.
The celebration reflected the growth and expansion witnessed by Omran Group over two decades since its establishment by Royal Decree in 2005. It has become a strategic entity leading tourism and economic development in the Sultanate of Oman, enhancing investment competitiveness and creating a sustainable environment for tourism infrastructure. The Group has also succeeded in developing integrated tourist destinations and hospitality assets that embrace both authenticity and modernity, while offering unique experiences that showcase Oman’s rich tourism potential.
Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority, said that the celebration represents an important milestone in assessing the impact of the Authority’s economic diversification efforts through Omran Group. This has been achieved by launching quality investments in the tourism sector, one of the promising areas with wide economic and social returns, alongside devising plans to further strengthen this impact in upcoming planning stages.
He added that through Omran Group, the Authority is keen to enhance Oman’s position as a leading tourism and investment destination, in line with the priorities of Oman Vision 2040, particularly those related to economy and development, and people and society.
For his part, Azzan bin Qassim Albusaidi, Chairman of Omran Group, said that the Group will continue its efforts to shape the future of the tourism sector in close cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and other government entities, in order to strengthen Oman’s standing as a prime tourism destination. He pointed out that the Group is committed to actively contributing to the achievement of Oman Vision 2040 objectives, in parallel with the National Tourism Strategy.
