Oman Airports has signed an agreement with Singapore's Changi Airport to boost the commercial and aviation revenues of airports across the Sultanate.

The agreement aims to establish a preliminary strategic cooperation, based on a genuine partnership for the exchange of ideas and expertise, and to facilitate the development of vital projects that enrich the entertainment and commercial experience for visitors and travellers.

Under this agreement, Changi International Airport will provide practical solutions to enhance revenue for Oman Airports. These solutions will contribute to long-term strategies for increasing revenue, including land leasing and the development of themed activity zones for visitors and local residents.

The agreement was signed by Engineer Ahmed Al Amri, CEO of Oman Airports, and Eugene Gan, CEO of Changi International Airport, in the presence of Eng. Said bin Hamood bin Said Al Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of Oman Airports’ Board of Directors.

Eng. Al Amri said that the agreement aims to enhance the commercial and operational revenues of the airports in the Sultanate. He noted that Oman Airports is proactively working to increase operational income by reducing costs, driving transformative changes in revenue streams, and improving airport performance.

He added that Oman Airports is working closely with the relevant authorities to enhance the sector’s revenues, in light of the Sultanate of Oman’s strategic location and the number of airports across the country. This calls for the development of an integrated system aligned with Oman Vision 2040, enabling the sector to play an active role in diversifying sources of income.

Eugene Gan, CEO of Changi Airport, said that the airport will draw on its expertise with its partners at Oman Airports to develop integrated solutions aimed at improving the business environment and boosting commercial revenues. Oman’s strategic position between East and West highlights the importance of capitalising on this advantage, along with the presence of modern airports capable of increasing both operational and commercial revenues.
