Minister meets Palestine's Vice President to discuss Palestinian cause

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met with Hussein Al Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation, on the sidelines of the 34th session of the Arab league summit and the 5th Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, both held in Iraq.

The meeting addressed developments in the Palestinian issue in light of the ongoing escalation. It underscored the need to end the aggression against the Gaza Strip and ensure the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of reaching a comprehensive settlement that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy.

Both sides affirmed the importance of Palestinian national unity and the need to strengthen joint Arab coordination to bolster the resilience of the Palestinian people and support their legitimate aspirations.
