The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) inaugurated the Omani Trade Office in the United States during a ceremony held at the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center in Washington, D.C., under the patronage of Talal Alrahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United States.

The Office aims to support Omani exports to the US, promote the import of high-quality American goods, attract American investment to the Sultanate, enable Omani companies to expand into US markets, and to strengthen trade partnerships.

The office plays a key role in coordinating trade delegations, organising business meetings, offering advice on how to benefit from the Free Trade Agreement between Oman and the United States, and providing economic reports that support decision-making in the export of Omani products and the promotion of mutual investment.

Faisal Alrawas, OCCI Chairman, said that the opening of the Office represents a significant strategic step in empowering Oman's private sector and strengthening its presence in global markets.

He added that this aligns with the Chamber’s efforts to expand opportunities for trade and investment exchange and to establish direct channels of communication with major global economies.

Ibtisam Alfarouji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, said that the opening of the Office is part of Oman's strategic approach to boosting foreign direct investment and increasing its contribution to the national economy.

She noted that this step aims to provide broader opportunities for American companies to enter the Omani market and benefit from the competitive business environment offered by the Sultanate.

Ambassador Talal Alrahbi, said that the opening of the Office marks a new milestone in the trade relations between Oman and the United States, which are rooted in a historic legacy reflecting nearly two centuries of strong commercial ties and cooperation.

He noted that this forms part of Oman's ongoing effort to strengthen its economic presence on the international stage through economic diplomacy and to expand its global network of trade and investment relations.

Ambassador Ana Escrogima, the US Ambassador to Oman, said that the opening of the Office affirms the depth of the growing economic relations between the two friendly countries and reflects a shared commitment to expanding prospects for trade and investment cooperation.

She added that this step represents a new economic bridge connecting Oman and the United States, offering real opportunities for companies from both countries to achieve mutual benefit.

Amy Hahn, Director of the Omani Trade Office in the United States, stated that the office provides tailored services and strategic support for investors and exporters from both countries.

She added that the office works to build effective business links that contribute to the growth of bilateral trade and facilitate market entry by organising specialised economic events, offering professional consultations, and promoting Omani products that meet the standards and demands of the US market.

The opening of the Omani Trade Office in the United States is a significant step towards providing practical tools that enable Oman's private sector to expand into international markets—particularly the US market, which is one of the largest and most competitive in the world.

The opening of the Office was attended by officials and representatives from the public and private sectors of both Oman and the United States.
