Oman and Azerbaijan discuss economic cooperation

Oman’s Minister of Economy Dr Said bin Mohammed Al Saqri met in the Azerbaijani capital Baku with Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as part of efforts to strengthen economic relations and explore cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

The meeting reviewed opportunities for cooperation in key sectors, particularly energy, renewable energy, trade and logistics, in ways that serve the interests of both countries and support their development plans.

The two Ministers discussed investment opportunities in priority sectors, particularly manufacturing and renewable energy, including solar and wind power, opening wide prospects for investors from both countries.

This meeting comes as part of an official visit by an Omani delegation comprising representatives from several government bodies to exchange expertise and knowledge in various fields, notably economic diversification, development of the entrepreneurship environment, strengthening the capacities of small and medium enterprises, digital transformation and renewable energy.

The visit includes meetings with Ministers in the Government of Azerbaijan and officials responsible for the economy, energy, digital development, transport and agriculture, as well as chief executives of Azerbaijani companies and institutions.

The visit aims to develop future cooperation between Oman and the Azerbaijan in strategic areas such as developing logistics corridors between the Gulf and the Caucasus region, strengthening food security, investing in renewable energy and supporting digital economy and innovation projects.
