Omani industrial exports recorded an increase of 8.6% in the first quarter of 2025, reaching a total value of 1.62 billion Omani rials, compared to 1.49 billion rials during the same period in 2024.

According to data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, Omani industrial exports have recently seen notable expansion across several regional markets. This reflects the growing industrial presence of Oman on the regional trade map.

Imports by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of Omani industrial products rose by 28.3%, reaching a value of 259 million Omani rials—underscoring the depth of economic ties between the two countries and the rising demand for Omani products in the Saudi market.

Nusra Alhabsi, Director General of Commerce at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, said that the rapid growth in trade between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a direct result of ongoing cooperation between the two countries and reflects growing economic integration across various sectors.

She explained that since its establishment, the Economy, Trade and Industry Committee – formed under the Omani-Saudi Coordination Council – has worked to address challenges facing trade movements including unifying customs procedures and facilitating land transit through border crossings.

The Committee has also connected commercial systems electronically between the two countries, directly contributing to the smooth flow of goods and services and increasing trade transport via the Empty Quarter crossing, which has become one of the key new arteries of commerce between the two brotherly countries.

Mazen Alsiyabi, Assistant Director General at the Directorate General of Industry at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, affirmed that the past period has witnessed growing momentum in coordination and engagement between industrial sector officials in both countries.

This was clearly reflected in the organisation of a series of meetings, exchange visits, specialised workshops, and direct events between investors and entrepreneurs.

In a statement to the Oman News Agency, he added that these efforts have directly contributed to expanding areas of industrial cooperation, particularly in priority sectors such as manufacturing, advanced technologies, and supply chains.

They have also helped to identify promising investment opportunities and to develop joint industrial initiatives aimed at boosting competitiveness and localising technical knowledge, in support of the path toward industrial integration between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
