Oman welcomes UK Prime Minister’s plan to recognise State of Palestine

The Foreign Ministry expresses the Sultanate of Oman’s welcome of the announcement by Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, regarding his country’s intention to recognise the State of Palestine during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly.

The Ministry reaffirms Oman’s call on the remaining members of the international community that have yet to recognise the State of Palestine to take similar steps, in order to guarantee the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, as a step towards a two-state solution and lasting peace in the region.
