Launch of Oman cultural event in Madrid
An Oman cultural event was launched at Casa Árabe in the Spanish capital, Madrid, under the patronage of Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, and Diego Martínez Belío, Spain’s State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs.
The event, Oman at Casa Árabe, featured a musical performance by the Takht Sharqi ensemble of the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra, and the opening of a photography exhibition titled “Images from the Land of Oman.” It also included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between Bait Al Zubair and Casa Árabe in Madrid.
The event also featured a panel discussion on the Omani physician and chemist Ibn al Dhahabi, who spent part of his life in Spain and is buried there.
This cultural initiative is set to continue until the end of 2025, during which Casa Árabe will host an exhibition of Omani historical documents, an Omani film evening, and a day dedicated to Omani cuisine.
The event was organised in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, Bait Al Zubair, and the Cultural Club.
