Oman Belarus joint statement on the occasion of the State Visit of His Majesty

The following is the full text of a joint statement issued by the Sultanate of the Oman and the Republic of Belarus on the occasion of the State Visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Republic of Belarus from September 6 to 7  2025.

“At the invitation of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik paid a State visit to the Republic of Belarus.

“In an atmosphere of trust, friendship and mutual understanding, both expressed their determination to work together towards strengthening and developing Omani-Belarusian cooperation. They also discussed international and regional issues of mutual interest.

“Both leaders discussed the progress towards implementation of the agreements reached during mutual high level visits 2024-2025 in the fields of food security and agriculture, industry, logistics, healthcare, tourism and culture.

“Both valued positively the work of all parties to increase bilateral trade, and to expand the supply of Belarusian food products, industrial machinery, pharmaceuticals, veterinary drugs and other goods to the Sultanate of Oman, as well as Omani products of interest to Belarus.

“Both Leaders welcomed bilateral efforts made to implement joint projects in the field of infant formula and dairy products, as well as the field of machinery assembly in Oman.

“The Heads of State agreed that joint industrial cooperation projects currently under development will have a positive impact on the development of bilateral economic relations, given Oman’s logistical potential and the benefits of a modernising infrastructure.

“They confirmed their readiness to expand their investment cooperation in the fields of agriculture, IT, furniture, and pulp and paper production.

“The Heads of State celebrated the signing of an agreement in May 2025 to establish a Joint Committee on Cooperation and Investment. They expressed their interest in launching it in the near future in order to coordinate the joint work of Omani and Belarusian entities in implementing bilateral agreements.

“They emphasised the importance of direct charter flights on the Minsk – Salalah – Minsk route,  launched in February 2025. They expressed the determination of both countries to work together towards increasing mutual flows of tourists.

“The Heads of State stressed the significance of developing cooperation in education and culture aimed at deepening bilateral ties and bringing the peoples of both countries closer together.

“They emphasised the importance of establishing and developing direct contacts between business communities, mutual participation in exhibitions and fairs, holding national exhibitions in the Republic of Belarus and the Sultanate of Oman, and cultural exchange. In this regard, the Leaders welcomed the signing of a mutual visa exemption agreement.

“The Heads of State noted the importance of creating a solid legal base for the further development of Omani Belarusian relations in all spheres. They also welcomed the signing of bilateral documents on the margins of the visit.

“They agreed that the Governments of their countries and authorised Ministries and organisations will develop and implement the necessary programmes and practical action plans in accordance with the goals and principles of this Joint Statement.

“The Leaders confirmed their common approach to key global and regional issues, emphasising the need to comply with the United Nations Charter and international law, expressing their readiness to cooperate closely within the framework of international organisations and to make joint efforts to promote a multipolar, fair and equitable international political and economic order. They condemned the use of unilateral coercive measures and sanctions.

“His Majesty the Sultan of Oman expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality received and invited the President of the Republic of Belarus to visit Oman.”
