A delegation from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MCIIP)<\/a> to the United Republic of Tanzania explored ways to strengthen engagement with government and economic institutions and the Tanzanian business community.<\/p>\n

The delegation sought to identify new trade and investment opportunities, and build partnerships between the private sectors of the two countries.<\/p>\n

The delegation was led by Ibtisam bint Ahmed Al Farouji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at the MCIIP. She said relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Tanzania are rooted in history, adding that the next phase presents opportunities to expand these relations into broader areas of economic and investment cooperation.<\/p>\n

She noted that Oman views Tanzania as an important partner in East Africa, given its economic potential and promising opportunities.<\/p>\n

The Undersecretary said that Oman offers investors a strategic gateway to regional markets, serving as a hub for trade and partnerships between Asia and Africa. Oman benefits from a strategic geographic location, advanced infrastructure, a supportive business environment and an integrated system of enablers and incentives that facilitate the establishment and growth of investment projects.<\/p>\n

She added that one of the enablers available to investors in Oman is the Golden Residency Programme<\/a>, which supports efforts to attract investors, business owners and skilled professionals. The programme provides long-term residency for them and their families, helping to strengthen investor stability and deepen their connection with Oman\u2019s business environment and economic opportunities. The programme forms part of a broader framework designed to improve the investor experience and provide a more attractive and stable environment for long-term investment, she noted.<\/p>\n

She explained that strengthening Oman\u2019s presence in African markets and building sustainable investment partnerships with countries that have promising economic potential are important pathways for diversifying the investment base and strengthening international partnerships. She noted that Tanzania is among the markets where Oman is keen to expand cooperation and transform opportunities into value-added projects and investments.<\/p>\n

She added that direct engagement with the Tanzanian business community provides a deeper understanding of investors\u2019 interests, helps connect them with the \u00a0opportunities available in Oman and creates scope for investment partnerships in priority sectors.<\/p>\n

Saud bin Hilal Alshaidani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Tanzania<\/a>, said Omani-Tanzanian relations are distinguished by their historical depth and continued development. He noted the importance of strengthening the economic and investment dimensions of these relations and creating further channels of communication between institutions and the business communities of both countries.<\/p>\n

He said relations between Oman and Tanzania represent a model of well-established ties rooted in history. He added that the current economic and investment momentum reflects a shared commitment to building broader and more sustainable economic partnerships on the foundation of these longstanding relations.<\/p>\n

The Ambassador added that stronger engagement between government institutions and the private sector would enable both countries to benefit from their respective strengths and opportunities, while creating scope for joint investments and projects that serve mutual interests and support the aspirations of the two peoples.<\/p>\n

The visit includes bilateral meetings with government and economic officials and institutions in Tanzania, as well as meetings with Tanzanian investors and business leaders to discuss cooperation and investment opportunities. It also aims to present the sectors and investment opportunities available in Oman and explore areas that could form the basis for future partnerships and projects between the two countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
