Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones<\/a>, received a Chinese economic delegation from Hainan Province at the Authority\u2019s headquarters in Muscat.<\/p>\n

The delegation was headed by Bateer, Executive Vice Governor of Hainan Province in the People\u2019s Republic of China.<\/p>\n

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two countries in economic and free zones and industrial cities.<\/p>\n

The meeting reviewed investment opportunities available in the special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities overseen by the Authority. It also discussed potential areas of cooperation with China\u2019s Hainan Province, and explored opportunities to establish investment partnerships between companies and institutions in promising economic and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n

The two countries highlighted the importance of coordination and creating a supportive environment for cooperation. They also discussed involving economic zones, companies and the private sector in developing and implementing investment and commercial opportunities and projects of mutual interest. This includes drawing on shared experience in developing and managing economic and specialised zones, strengthening integration between economic zones and ports, developing industrial clusters and attracting high value investments. These efforts aim to move from broad frameworks of cooperation towards practical partnerships based on specific initiatives and projects.<\/p>\n

The meeting also provided an overview of the network of economic zones, free zones and industrial cities overseen by the Authority and the supportive investment environment they offer. This benefits from Oman\u2019s strategic location, regulatory flexibility and openness to regional and global markets, as well as the strong logistics capabilities provided by its network of ports and airports and integrated infrastructure. Together, these advantages enhance investors\u2019 access to markets and support the expansion of their businesses.<\/p>\n

The meeting also discussed the importance of strengthening links between the business communities of Oman and China\u2019s Hainan Province and of raising awareness among Chinese companies of opportunities to invest and expand in the zones overseen by the Authority. This would help attract high value investments, strengthen industrial integration and support the transfer of knowledge and advanced technologies.<\/p>\n

Both delegations emphasised the importance of continuing coordination and exchanging expertise, while exploring new areas of cooperation and partnership.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
