The Foreign Ministry expresses the Sultanate of Oman\u2019s welcome for the joint statement issued by the Foreign Ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.<\/p>\n
The statement rejects Israeli policies of settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian territories and calls for steps to prevent trade linked to illegal settlements under international law.<\/p>\n
Oman affirms that the continued Israeli settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian territories constitutes a violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy. The international community must firmly prevent and remove any obstacles to the Palestinian state achieving its full and legitimate independence along the June 4, 1967 borders, in pursuit of a just and comprehensive peace.<\/p>\n
Oman also calls on the international community to take further practical and effective steps to deter Israeli settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territories, to ensure respect for international law and international humanitarian law and to prevent the continuation of measures aimed at altering the demographic and geographic character of the State of Palestine and undermining the rights of the Palestinian people on their land.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
