OQ Exploration and Production Company<\/a> celebrated the arrival of the first batch of participants in the “Tamayuz” Training for Development Programme, in a ceremony sponsored by Dr Mahad bin Said Baowain, Minister of Labour.<\/p>\n

The programme, part of an initiative targeting 515 trainees, demonstrates the company’s commitment to preparing qualified national cadres for the energy sector.<\/p>\n

The programme marks the importance of national partnerships in building human capital and creating training programmes with a tangible impact related to the needs of the labour market, both now, and into the future.<\/p>\n

“Tamayuz” is implemented in partnership with the Oman Energy Association (OPAL)<\/a>, which manages and delivers its training components, integrating efforts between public and private sector institutions to develop the skills of graduates, especially in vital national priority sectors.<\/p>\n

OQ Exploration and Production (OQEP) places human resources development at the top of its strategic priorities, as a key pillar for the sustainability of its business and maintaining the competitiveness of the energy sector.<\/p>\n

The company is working to design and implement specialised training and rehabilitation programmes that build national competencies and meet the needs of the oil and gas sector by building advanced technical and leadership capabilities.<\/p>\n

The programme targets Omani graduates who hold the general diploma, diploma and bachelor’s degree, providing them with an integrated training experience that combines technical and practical training, behavioural and functional skills development, as well as practical workplace training, continuing professional evaluation, and the granting of accredited professional certificates.<\/p>\n

Engineer Mahmoud Al Hashmi, CEO of OQEP<\/a>, said that “Tamayuz” represents a long-term investment in Oman’s human capital, which aims to prepare a new generation to support the energy sector and to meet the needs of the oil and gas sector for qualified and trained personnel. The programme forms part of the company’s strategy to enhance national capabilities and support the Government’s efforts to provide opportunities for job seekers.<\/p>\n

He added that the programme, which offers multiple training pathways ranging from six months to two years, embodies OQEP’s commitment to transform training from a short-term initiative to a sustainable path of professional development, linking the acquisition of skills to real job opportunities, while enhancing the competitiveness and resilience of the sector in the face of future transformations.<\/p>\n

“Tamayuz” embodies a national model of effective partnership between the public and private sectors in the development of human competencies, with potential to expand its scope to include other economic sectors, and consolidate it as a leading national platform to develop Omani skills .
