A workshop on Oman\u2013Saudi relations was held today as part of the diplomatic course attended by Omani diplomats at the Prince Saud Al Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies<\/a>. It took place in the presence of Dr Musabbab bin Ayed Al Qahtani, Director General of the Institute, along with a number of Saudi academics and diplomats.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Al Maskari, Head of the MInistry’s Department for the GCC and Region, delivered a paper reviewing the foundations of the longstanding relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their continued development across political, economic and development fields.<\/p>\n

In his lecture, the Ambassador addressed the dimensions of strategic cooperation between the two countries and its future prospects. He highlighted the importance of continuous coordination and complementarity of roles in supporting joint GCC<\/a> action and strengthening the foundations of security and stability in the region in a way that serves the shared interests and aspirations of the two peoples.<\/p>\n

The workshop also discussed prospects for enhancing the Oman\u2013Saudi partnership in light of the role of the Oman\u2013Saudi Coordination Council as the enablers of Oman Vision 2040<\/a> and Saudi Vision 2030<\/a>. It noted that this partnership represents a key pillar for keeping pace with regional and international developments through understanding and constructive cooperation.<\/p>\n

As part of the Foreign Ministry\u2019s participation in the diplomatic programme at the Prince Saud Al Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies, Ambassador Al Maskari, met Dr Musabbab bin Ayed Al Qahtani, Director General of the Institute.<\/p>\n
