Sayyid Badr Albusaidi<\/a>, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman <\/a>took part in an international ministerial dialogue held in Washington, DC, titled \u201cCritical Minerals Supply Chains\u201d. The dialogue was organised by the United States Department of State and was opened by JD Vance, Vice President of the United States of America<\/a>. Foreign ministers, senior officials and representatives of governments and international institutions from across the world participated.<\/p>\n

The dialogue addressed the importance of critical minerals in supporting global advancement across technological sectors, advanced industries and the digital and knowledge based economy. It also discussed challenges related to investment in critical minerals mining, supply security and price volatility. The meeting reviewed ways to build reliable and sustainable partnerships, enhance transparency and exchange expertise in exploration, development, processing and trade of these vital minerals.<\/p>\n

The dialogue also examined mechanisms to strengthen international and multilateral cooperation, to encourage responsible investment and to develop regulatory frameworks that ensure the sustainability of global supply chains, while taking environmental dimensions into account. It highlighted support for developing countries in building capacities in this sector, creating new and rewarding employment opportunities.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of the dialogue, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi highlighted the importance of multilateral cooperation based on mutual trust and shared interests. He noted that collective action among participating countries is a key factor for achieving the desired resilience of global supply chains, while maintaining market stability, meeting the growing needs of future industries, and supporting innovation and technological progress.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
