President General Joseph Aoun of the Republic of Lebanon<\/a>, arrived in Muscat on a two-day official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.<\/p>\n

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik<\/a> led the welcoming party for the President. When the jet of President Aoun touched down at the Royal Airport, His Majesty met the guest at the foot of the ramp, welcoming him and wishing him and his accompanying delegation a successful visit and a pleasant stay.<\/p>\n

President Aoun was also received by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; Lieutenant General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nomani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister<\/a>, Dr Mahad bin Said Ba\u2019owain, Minister of Labour (Head of the Mission of Honour);\u00a0Ahmed Mohammed Said Alsaidi, Ambassador of Oman to Lebanon<\/a>, staff members of the Lebanese Embassy in Muscat and members of the mission of honour.<\/p>\n

His Majesty and the Lebanese President then proceeded to the reception hall, passing between two rows of a guard of honour of the Royal Guard of Oman.<\/p>\n

After a short stay, the motorcade of His Majesty and his guest left the Royal Airport heading to Al Alam Palace for the official reception.<\/p>\n

As the motorcade arrived at the internal courtyard of Al Alam Palace, it was escorted by a group of horse riders, to the accompaniment of a mounted military band. The artillery fired a 21-gun salute for the visiting President, while the band of the Royal Guard of Oman played a tune of welcome.<\/p>\n

His Majesty accompanied President Aoun to the dais of honour where the national anthem of the Lebanese Republic was played.<\/p>\n

His Majesty then shook hands with members of the official delegation accompanying the Lebanese President.<\/p>\n

President Aoun in turn shook hands with members of the Royal Family, the Chairmen of the State Council and the Shura Council, Ministers and commanders of the Sultan\u2019s Armed Forces and the Royal Oman Police.<\/p>\n

During his visit, President General Joseph Aoun of the Republic of Lebanon is accompanied by an official delegation comprising: Youssef Raggi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants<\/a>; Major General Michel Mansi, Minister of National Defence; Ahmed Al-Hajjar, Minister of Interior; Nizar Hani, Minister of Agriculture; Dr Rakan Nasser El-Din, Minister of Public Health; and Brigadier General Andr\u00e9 Rahal, Adviser to the President.<\/p>\n
