{"id":31409,"date":"2025-11-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-17T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/31409\/"},"modified":"2025-12-31T11:20:11","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T11:20:11","slug":"oman-announces-launch-of-national-climate-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/en\/31409\/","title":{"rendered":"Oman announces launch of National Climate Platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oman announced at <a href=\"https:\/\/cop30.br\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COP30<\/a> climate summit in Brazil the launch of a National Climate Platform as a key strategic tool to implement national priorities, attract climate finance and enhance international cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>During a session on \u00a0\u201cDelivering Climate Solutions through Country Platforms\u201d, Dr Thuraya Al Sareeriya, of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ea.gov.om\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Environmental Authority of Oman<\/a> said the National Platform is being developed as an integrated national system to serve as a hub for coordination and investment.<\/p>\n<p>The Platform brings together national priorities, climate finance and international cooperation with the aim of turning national strategies into practical programmes with measurable impact to support the transition toward a low carbon and climate resilient future.<\/p>\n<p><img data-opt-id=226026559  fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99071 size-fusion-800\" src=\"https:\/\/mlzlkxvcvliz.i.optimole.com\/cb:PjJ2.239d\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/g:sm\/f:best\/https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/wp-content\/uploads\/Climate-2-800x534-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Oman announces launch of National Climate Platform\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p>She said the platform is built on three core principles of national ownership, partnership and transparency. It will use advanced digital tools to improve transparency, track investments, measure progress and build trust with partners at national and international levels. This reflects Oman\u2019s readiness to deliver impactful results with national ownership and global relevance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ea.gov.om\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Environment Authority<\/a> in Oman leads this work in partnership with relevant national bodies with full openness to international institutions, the private sector and countries in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The platform will focus on priority sectors for mitigation and adaptation in line with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oman2040.om\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oman Vision 2040<\/a> and the Net Zero 2050 Strategy.
