His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik<\/a> has arrived in Madrid, beginning a three-day state visit to the Kingdom of Spain.<\/p>\n

When the Royal plane entered Spanish airspace, it was escorted by military jets of the Spanish Air Force, in a gesture of warm welcome for His Majesty.<\/p>\n

Upon his arrival at Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid\u2013Barajas Airport, His Majesty was received by Diego Mart\u00ednez, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs \u00a0and Head of the Mission of Honour<\/a>, several Spanish officials, and Thamer Al Alawi Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Spain and members of staff from the Omani Embassy in Madrid.<\/a><\/p>\n

His Majesty then proceeded to the vehicle awaiting him, passing between two rows of a guard of honour.<\/p>\n

The motorcade of His Majesty then left the airport, heading to the Royal Palace of El Pardo, where he will be staying.<\/p>\n

King Felipe VI<\/a> and Queen Letizia will host an official reception for His Majesty, at the Royal Palace in Madrid on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
